Terms of Use (HarmonyOS)

Please read these terms before using the app. Membership is also governed by the Membership Agreement, and auto-renewing plans by the Auto-Renewal Agreement. How personal information is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

1. Parties and scope

These terms are between you and Lu Liang (developer brand: Gentleflow) and apply to the HarmonyOS version of Jigu Korean (叽咕韩语, "the App"), package tech.gentleflow.language.ko. They do not apply to Jigu Korean on other platforms.

2. Minors

Children under 14 should read these terms with a parent or guardian, who decides whether they use the App; other minors should use it under a guardian's guidance. Minors need a guardian's consent before buying a membership.

3. The service

The App offers Hangul, vocabulary and conversation lessons, a review schedule, mistake practice, a daily reminder, home screen service cards and related on-device features. Every Hangul lesson is free, as are the first two vocabulary chapters and the first conversation chapter. The App has no ads.

The App also offers Jigu Pro, a paid membership. Its benefits, plans and charges are set out in the Membership Agreement.

4. License

As long as you follow these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable license to install and use the App on HarmonyOS devices you lawfully own or control, for personal, non-commercial learning. The App is licensed, not sold; all rights not expressly granted are reserved by us or the relevant rights holders.

5. Acceptable use

Except where applicable law expressly allows it, you may not:

• copy, rent, sell, redistribute or sublicense the App or its lessons, audio, illustrations or other assets, or use them for unauthorized commercial purposes;
• maliciously modify, damage, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer the App, or circumvent its security or access controls;
• use the App to infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, reputation or other lawful rights;
• use the App for unlawful activity, to endanger networks or devices, or to interfere with others' use;
• impersonate us in publishing apps, agreements, notices or support information.

6. Intellectual property

The App's code, interface design, illustrations, audio, stroke data, lesson content and structure, text, and the Jigu Korean name and marks belong to us or our licensors. The Korean audio is AI-generated speech. HarmonyOS, AppGallery and other third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.

7. Data and privacy

How the App handles data is described in the separate Privacy Policy (HarmonyOS), which you can open at any time from Settings › Membership & help (设置 › 会员与帮助). You can clear your learning data in Settings › Data (设置 › 数据).

8. Local data and backups

Learning data is stored on your device. We do not run a learning-data server, so we usually cannot recover it for you. Uninstalling, clearing data, device damage or a system reset may lose your progress; you can use HarmonyOS's own backup features if you wish.

9. Updates, changes and availability

We may update the App or these terms to fix problems, improve compatibility or experience, or meet legal and platform requirements. Material changes that need your consent will be shown to you clearly; silence is never taken as consent. Device faults, system limits, force majeure, necessary maintenance or changes on third-party platforms may cause temporary interruptions.

10. Disclaimer and limits of liability

The lessons are for language learning and do not guarantee a particular proficiency or exam result. To the extent the law allows, the App is provided as is.

No disclaimer or limitation excludes or limits liability for intent, gross negligence, personal injury, statutory consumer rights, or anything else the law does not allow to be excluded. For losses that may lawfully be limited, we are liable only to the extent they were reasonably foreseeable and directly caused by our breach.

11. Huawei and third parties

Huawei is not the provider of the App's service under these terms. Downloading and updating the App through AppGallery and using your Huawei ID and Huawei In-App Purchases may also be subject to terms between you and Huawei.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Disputes should first be settled through friendly negotiation; failing that, either party may bring a claim before a competent people's court. Mandatory consumer protections where you live are not affected.
